Halloween Present!

One of my former managers was the kind of woman who sometimes had to be reminded to remove her various piercings before going out onto the sales floor. I <3ed her a lot, particularly because she had such a wonderful sense of fashion. All dark and spooky, and stuff. I've wanted to make her something for a while, but she didn't seem the type to really want x-mas presents, so I decided to make this little batty as a Halloween present. The eyes are little red beads the my roomate donated to the cause. Found the pattern on Ravelry.

MGR's MGR

So, the story behind this one, is that I have a friend who goes by MGR, short for My Giant Robot. So this is MGR's(MyGiantRobot's) MGR(Miniature Giant Robot). I'm so puny. The eyes are white felt, and I had a hell of a time cutting them out to look decent, so.../shrug, they aren't perfect. Also, I can't sew very well, so I hope they stay on. Overall, not 100% pleased with this guy, but I hope MGR still likes her MGR. Found the pattern in the book "Creepy Cute Crochet."

Panda Ears

The roommate and I took a backpacking trip to opal creek falls, and while we were there, I decided to make myself some panda ears for the (then) upcoming Penny Arcade Expo (PAX). This is how they turned out, was taken from a pattern off of Ravelry. I also made some kitty ears on that trip that I posted pictures of a while back. The ears are kind of bowl shaped but it's hard to tell because of the black. Note that I am also wearing a Panda shirt and making my fiercest panda-protecting-its-bamboo face.

First Hat

This is actually the first thing that I ever knitted. The pattern came from son of stitch and bitch, and turned out to not look at all like it was supposed to. I love the hat though and I got "commissioned" by one of my friends to make him one just like it...PRESSURE!! Oh well, he loves me regardless of how skilled I am...right?

Pax and Ears!

I went to PAX weekend before last as an enforcer for the second year in a row (woo). Also, I didn't get swine flu, or die, so that's a plus. I was working in the unicorn theater, so I made myself a horn on the drive to Seattle. This is a pic of me wearing my horn, and working on a horn for someone else.

I also had made some kitty ears for a lady friend of mine and wore those for a while...

While I was wearing the horn and working hard, the Volunteer Coordinator for PA came up to me and basically asked me if she could commission a horn!! Uhh, err, hell yes?! I made one really fast and gave it to her. Her monetary offer was about double what I was willing to take for the horn, so I also offered to make her some kitty ears, and she accepted. She wore them for almost all of PAX and a bunch of people saw her and complimented them! Wooo, word fame!

Ninja!

This guy was a present for a friend. I realized in retrospect that I should have made it a *white* ninja, but it still turned out really well. I'm considering making a little army of these guys to throw at people and yell "NINJA'D!!" and then fade into the darkness.

Hippo!

This little guy was one of the first amigurumi that I ever made. It was for a friend who goes by the surname hippo-slayer, or did at the time, so that explains his x_x eyes. I still think he's cute, even if he is dead.
